Amputee & Limb Loss Resources
A Leg Forever Charitable Foundation was established by Elizabeth (Liz) Norden in honor of her two sons JP and Paul Norden who each lost a leg in the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. The foundation’s mission is to pay it forward and assist other amputees in their time of need just as JP and Paul were helped with overwhelming support following the marathon bombings.
Imagine having your whole world turned upside down, at just six years old.
In 2017, Sreyly was riding alongside her pregnant mother on a motorbike when a car suddenly slammed into them. At only six years old, Sreyly lost her mother, unborn sibling, and lower right leg all at once. This devastating incident is hard enough to imagine as an adult – but for a child is unfathomable.
Our mission is to make outpatient physical and occupational therapy possible for amputees needing financial support, while promoting wellness in body, mind and spirit.
The Born to Run Foundation provides specialized prosthetics to young adults and children who want to live a fun and fulfilling life. Our goal is to show amputees that having a disability does not mean they are incapable of playing sports and being active, and to show them that being different is something to embrace.

What began as three friends’ kindness and compassion to help one athlete paralyzed in triathlon has now grown into a powerful current that has carried and supported those with physical challenges – empowering them to find community, confidence, and conviction.
The Heather Abbott Foundation envisions a world where individuals who have suffered limb loss through traumatic circumstances can live the lives they want.
The Jordan Thomas Foundation returns children and adolescents to a life without physical limitation by providing quality prostheses until adulthood, serving as a caring resource for the child and family living with limb differences and tirelessly advocating for insurance fairness.
Knowledge about amputation prevention and disease management does not always reach those who can benefit most from it. The Limb Care Foundation aims to address these areas with the goal of improving the lives of those affected by amputations and helping foster the new generation of healthcare providers that will deliver their care.
Limbs for Life provides assistance for lower-limb amputees who cannot afford prosthetic care. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., with no means to pay for prosthetic care, including Medicare, insurance coverage or state assistance.
The Lucky Fin Project enables children with upper-limb difference to attend specialized camps and obtain prosthetics, maintains a support network for parents, provides education on limb differences, and links parents to medical information and resources.
ROMP’s mission is to provide high-quality prosthetic care in underserved populations, which enhances mobility and unlocks human potential. We have clinics in Ecuador, Guatemala, and the United States.
Steps of Faith helps uninsured and underinsured amputees get the prosthetic limbs they desperately need to restore their livelihood. We find prosthetists to donate their time to help our patients and we raise money to cover the cost of prosthetic limbs.
