COMEDY FOR PROSTHETICS SHOW

This show is in support of our mission: To help amputees in Arizona obtain the prosthetics they need to live a full life.

Please join one-handed comedian/speaker Mike Bolland on July 20th, 2022 at 7:00 PM as he Headlines a night of fun in support of a worthy cause. Mike has invited a group of talented comedians to make this a night worth remembering!  Nothing will be held back to make sure you laugh the entire evening.

About the Foundation:

Joe & Marie Bolland’s Helping Hands is an Arizona-based nonprofit that aids in the cost of prosthetics for people living in Arizona. The organization was created by Joe & Marie’s son, Mike Bolland, who was born without a right hand. For Mike, there is no better way to honor their legacy than to help provide prosthetics to others just as they did for him as a child.

“My parents provided everything I needed as someone who was born a congenital amputee, including prosthetics from a very early age”, Mike said. “Having access to everything needed for my situation was never an issue for me, and that is 100% because of them. To be able to help others attain the prosthetics they need is now my mission. I’m honored to establish this organization named after my parents.”

Unfortunately for many amputees, associated costs for prosthetics are a very difficult hurdle to overcome. According to The Amputee Coalition (https://www.amputee-coalition.org/), 2.1 million Americans live with limb loss and 185,000 people have an amputation every year. Our goal is to help make prosthetics attainable to those in need, and in turn, helping them lead a full life.

Although Joe and Marie are no longer with us, their guiding principles live on.  Just as they provided prosthetics for their son, this organization named in their honor can do the same for others. About Mike

Despite being born without a right hand, Mike has lead one of the fullest lives imaginable: At age eight, he was a child actor playing the part of “Danny” in The Trial of Billy Jack. He also became the first person born without a hand to compete on the Professional Bowlers Tour and still holds his PBA card. After surviving cancer in 2016, Mike decided to knock an item off his bucket list and try comedy. He now performs all over the state of Arizona and throughout the Southwest. You can find Mike’s upcoming shows here: Mike Bolland Comedian | Speaker Calendar. You can also catch him on his YouTube channel, where he combines comedy and a little DIY in his web series “How I do Things with One Hand“. He is also an inventor, creating the very popular custom beer mug the Two Fisted Drinker. In May, he was the subject of the TV show Match Play TV, showing how he hits his driver with one hand.  More about Mike can be found here: MikeBolland.com.
